Local SEO

Local SEO for businesses that serve local customers

Local SEO helps people near you find your business when they search on Google or Maps. We look after your Google Business Profile, the pages for each suburb or service area, and the listings and reviews that back them up.

The basics

What local SEO is

When someone searches for a plumber, a physio or an accountant near them, Google shows a map with a short list of businesses above the usual results. Local SEO is the work of earning a place in that list and on the pages beneath it.

Three things drive it: how relevant your profile and pages are to the search, how close you are to the person searching, and how well known and trusted your business looks online. You cannot change distance, so the work goes into the other two.

That means an accurate Business Profile, a page that clearly serves each area you cover, details that match everywhere they appear, and reviews that real customers have left. It also helps AI tools describe your business correctly when someone asks them for a recommendation.

Who it suits

Who local SEO suits

  • Businesses with a shopfront, a clinic or a clear service area.
  • Trades and home services that work across several suburbs.
  • Multi-location brands that need each location to be found.
  • Owners who want more calls and bookings from nearby customers.

Probably not a fit

We will say so if

  • You sell only online and do not serve a local area.
  • You want to list areas you do not actually serve.
  • You cannot access or claim your Business Profile and cannot sort that out.

What is the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?

Regular SEO helps a site rank in the main search results. Local SEO adds the map listings and the location signals that decide who appears when someone searches near them. The two overlap, so we usually run them together.

Do I need a Google Business Profile?

If customers visit you or you travel to them, yes. It is the main way to appear on Google Maps and in the local results, and it often shows your phone, hours and reviews before anyone reaches your website.

How many suburb pages should I have?

Only as many as you genuinely serve, and each one needs something useful to say about that area. A handful of strong pages usually beats dozens of thin ones, and thin copied pages can do more harm than good.

Do reviews affect local rankings?

Yes, they are one of the signals, and they also affect whether people choose you once they see you. We help you ask for reviews in a way that follows Google's rules and reply to the ones you receive.

Can you help with a business that has several locations?

Yes. Each location needs its own profile and its own page with accurate details, plus a structure that makes sense to both customers and search engines. We plan that before building anything.

How long does local SEO take?

Profile and listing fixes can make a difference within weeks. Building reviews, local pages and mentions takes longer. The first review sets out what to expect for your area and your competitors.
