Technical SEO

Technical SEO that fixes what holds a site back

Technical SEO makes sure search engines and AI tools can reach, read and understand every page that matters. We find the problems, fix them in order of impact and explain each one in plain words.

The basics

What technical SEO is

Technical SEO is everything about how a website is built that affects whether search engines can use it. If pages are blocked, slow, duplicated or confusingly linked, even excellent content struggles to be found.

It is the least visible part of SEO, which is why it is often skipped. But it is also the part that makes the rest measurable and reliable. A site with sound foundations lets new pages be discovered quickly and lets reporting be trusted.

We work with the platform you already use, whether that is WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or a custom build, and we write fixes up clearly enough that you or your developer can apply them.

Scope

What is included

01/ 06

Crawl and index review

We crawl the site the way a search engine does and check what is indexed, what is blocked and what should not be there.

02/ 06

Speed and mobile

Slow pages, heavy images and layout problems on phones identified and ranked by how much they matter.

03/ 06

Structure and redirects

URLs, internal links, duplicate pages, broken links and redirect chains tidied into a clear structure.

04/ 06

Metadata and schema

Titles, descriptions, canonical tags and structured data checked and set up so each page is described correctly.

05/ 06

Tracking set-up

Calls, forms and bookings tracked so the monthly report can show enquiries from search.

06/ 06

Written fix list

Each problem explained, ranked and written so you or your developer can act on it, or we can do it for you.

Process

How the work runs

Step01 / 04

Crawl

We crawl the site and compare what search engines see with what you intend them to see.

Step02 / 04

Rank

Problems are sorted by impact, so the few that matter most are fixed first.

Step03 / 04

Fix

Changes are made by us or handed to your developer with clear instructions.

Step04 / 04

Monitor

We recheck after changes and keep watching for new issues as the site grows.

Who it suits

Who this suits

  • Sites that have grown over time and carry old pages and redirects.
  • Businesses that have rebuilt or moved their website recently.
  • Ecommerce and multi-location sites with many similar pages.
  • Anyone whose good content is not showing up as expected.

Probably not a fit

We will say so if

  • You want a one-off score without any follow-up fixes.
  • Nobody can make changes to the website, now or later.
  • The site is a single page and has no search goals.

Technical SEO questions

Answered plainly

Something missing? Ask us through the enquiry form and a senior person will reply.

What does a technical SEO audit include?

A crawl of the whole site, a check of what is indexed, speed and mobile testing, a review of structure, redirects and duplicate pages, a look at metadata and structured data, and a check that tracking works. You get a written list ranked by impact.

Will you make the changes or just report them?

Either. If you or your developer prefer to make the changes, we write them up clearly. If you want us to do the work on your site, we can, once the scope is agreed.

Do page speed and Core Web Vitals matter?

They matter for visitors first, since slow pages lose people, and they are a minor ranking signal. We focus on the changes that make a real difference to how the site feels, not on chasing a perfect score.

Which website platforms do you work with?

Most of them, including WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix and custom builds. Each platform has its own limits, and we tell you early if something cannot be fixed without a bigger change.

How often should technical SEO be checked?

After any redesign, migration or large content change, and regularly in between, because small problems build up quietly. In an ongoing engagement we keep an eye on it every month.

Can technical problems stop my site appearing in AI answers?

Yes. If a page is blocked, slow to load, or missing clear structure, tools that read the web may skip it or misunderstand it. Fixing the foundations helps both search and AI results.
