Privacy policy

This policy explains how SEO Geeks handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Last updated 22 October 2026.

Who we are

SEO Geeks provides SEO and AI search services to Australian businesses. We are part of the House of Geeks family of businesses. In this policy, "we" and "us" means SEO Geeks.

What personal information we collect

We collect the information you give us when you send an enquiry through the form on our contact page:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your website address, if you choose to give it.
  • Anything you write in your message, such as your business, your location and your goals.

If you become a client, we also collect the details needed to deliver and invoice the work. We do not ask for sensitive information and ask that you do not include any in your message.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you, through the enquiry form and in our later correspondence. Our web server may also record standard technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, the pages requested and the date and time. We use this to keep the site secure and running.

How we use it (APP 6)

  • To reply to your enquiry.
  • To prepare a review or proposal if you ask for one.
  • To deliver, report on and invoice work if you become a client.
  • To keep the website secure and to meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your information. We use it for the purposes above, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect. We will only send you marketing about our services if you have asked us to or are already a client, and you can opt out at any time.

Disclosure to others

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the website and handle enquiries, such as web hosting and email delivery, and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires. These providers may only use the information to provide their service to us. We do not share your information with other businesses in the House of Geeks family unless you ask us to or we tell you why first.

Overseas disclosure (APP 8)

Our hosting and email delivery providers operate data centres outside Australia, including in the United States. When you send an enquiry, your details may be processed and stored there. We take reasonable steps to choose providers that protect information, but overseas providers are subject to the laws of their own countries.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not currently use analytics tools. If that changes, we will update this policy before it does. Your browser may store technical data needed to display the site, which we do not use to identify you.

Security and retention (APP 11)

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. Enquiries are sent over an encrypted connection and kept only as long as we need them for the purposes above. We delete or de-identify information we no longer need, unless the law says we must keep it.

Access and correction (APPs 12 and 13)

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the enquiry form and say what you need. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days, and we may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you think we have breached the Privacy Act or the APPs, send us the details through the enquiry form and we will investigate and reply in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Contact us

For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact us through the enquiry form.
